Metahelix Life Sciences Private Limited was incorporated in December 2000 at Bangalore, India. The company was founded by five scientists who held techno-managerial positions in academia and the life science industry with a combined experience of over fifty years. The main business objectives of Metahelix are gene discovery for agronomic and nutritional enhancement of food and commercial crops.Metahelix also specializes in scientific consulting and contract research in life science informatics and functional genomics. Algorithm design and software development for various applications in bioinformatics are also areas of business for the company.

We are headquartered in Bangalore, India which is world renowned for its information technology capabilities and the home of premier educational institutions such as Indian Institute of Science and National Centre for Biological Sciences. Bangalore is in close proximity to important agricultural regions of the country and home to some of the leading health and pharmaceutical research institutions. It is also the capital of the state of Karnataka and a forerunner in promoting the biotech industry in the country.

Metahelix has positions in genomics and bioinformatics for outstanding candidates with demonstrated research or industry experience in plant molecular biology and informatics.

Genomics

 Scientists with atleast 2- 3 years of post-doctoral experience in plant molecular      biology with substantial exposure to modern tools of bioinformatics and genomic      technologies.

  Scientists with M.Sc / Ph.D. in agriculture / plant molecular biology with atleast 2      years experience in plant breeding

Informatics

 Scientists with a Ph.D. in the computational Physical/Chemical sciences or a     Ph.D in the biological sciences with substantial experience in bio-computing or     computer scientists with a flair for developing novel algorithms for pattern     recognition, statistical data analysis and modeling.

 Software developers with atleast 3-4 years experience in Database     design/architecture and data warehousing solutions.

 Software developers with atleast 3-4 years experience in all phases of the     software development cycle including exposure to quality assurance methods     with expertise in C++,Java, PERL, XML and other open architectures.
