S*BIO

S*BIO was formed through a partnership between the Singapore Economic Development Board Investments (EDBI), and Chiron Corporation, a US-based leading biotechnology company that focuses on biopharmaceuticals, vaccines and blood testing.

Under a technology transfer agreement, a core group of S*BIO scientists were sent to Chiron’s US facility, for training in drug discovery and genomics technologies. This enabled S*BIO to jumpstart its scientific and research programs. S*BIO commenced full operations in a newly completed, state-of-the-art facility at the Singapore Science Park II in January 2002.

S*BIO has built up a core team of internationally experienced and skilled researchers. S*BIO receives vision and guidance from its Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board and Management team. In addition, S*BIO works with various internationally renowned scientists from specific fields, on a consultative project basis.
